About The Position

This position serves as a support person in the Print Lab in Chalmers Hall. Monitors and distributes student print jobs, restocks supplies, assists students, cleans and maintains a professional work environment. The ideal candidate will be capable of working scheduled work times reliably.

Requirements

  • Experience with desktop software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), as evidenced in application materials.
  • Experience with computer operating systems, as evidenced in application materials.
  • Able to work evenings/weekends
  • Experience with printing, scanning, basic algebra as evidenced in application materials.
  • During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
  • For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
  • Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students in calculating cost of print jobs based on size and type of print
  • Add funds to their BeakEm Bucks to pay for print jobs
  • Answer non-technical questions
  • Manage paper, toner, ink
  • Alert staff to low stock conditions
  • Maintain and clean computer labs
  • Other duties as assigned
