About The Position

The Oregon School for the Deaf is hiring multiple Student Food Service Workers for the 2026-2027 School year. You must be enrolled currently at the Oregon School for the Deaf to qualify. This position performs a variety of routine food service activities such as washing dishes, pots, and pans, setting up condiments and food pans; preparing food trays; serving on food lines; clearing and cleaning tables, counters, and serving areas in a volume dining or food service facility. This is a part-time position and is scheduled for the duration of the academic school year. The schedule will require flexibility and the scheduled hours may vary from day to day.

Requirements

• Skill in the proper use of materials and equipment used in a dining or food service facility
• A Current Oregon Food Handler's Card
• Must be enrolled currently at the Oregon School for the Deaf to qualify

Nice To Haves

• Preference may be given to candidates that have a minimum of 6 months experience within a food service facility.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the dish room
• Assist with dish machine operations
• Sort and rack dishes, glasses, and utensils
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, etc.
• Clean dish machine and dish room
• Must be knowledgeable in dish machine operation
• Follow state safety and sanitation regulations for food service establishments
• Food prep as needed
