About The Position

The Student Food Service Worker assists in the preparation and service of DPS school meals in accordance with food and safety standards. Duties may include preparing food according to recipes, setting up serving lines, serving meals, cleaning & sanitizing dishes, and more.

Requirements

• Be a Denver Public Schools student at Emily Griffith High School.
• 1 letter of reference from a Dean, Counselor, Teacher, Assistant Principal or Principal.
• Ability to read, count and perform simple math.
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
• Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve school meals in accordance with food and safety standards
• Prepare food according to recipes
• Set up serving lines
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment
• Operate a cash register
