About The Position

Serves as a student representative for US Community Credit Union in the Academy of Hospitality and Finance at Hillsboro High School. Engages in educational activities through training on credit union policies and procedures, participates in scheduled credit union training courses, opens accounts, conducts financial transactions including paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, cross sells credit union services, and disseminates appropriate information. Provides excellent service to members.

Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Word and Excel
Good communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job
Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion
Ability to operate a ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch
Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names

Responsibilities

Receives and processes member financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals and loan payments
Sells money orders, pre paid debit cards, visa gift cards, and other products to members
Transfers amounts from member accounts as directed
Participates in training on US Community Credit Union policies and procedures, Credit Union National Association Center for Professional Development (CPD online), and instructor lead training
Operates cash recycler and inputs transactions into computer system
Balances cash drawer when applicable
Proofs checks to validate compliance with policies and procedures
Balances daily transactions
Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service
Cross sells credit union services
Performs other duties as assigned
