About The Position

U. S. Steel Tubular Products manufactures seamless pipe and premium connections for energy and industrial customers across the United States. The Summer 2027 Business Planning, Supply Chain & Operations Intern will support projects to improve plant performance, production planning, supply chain coordination, and business processes at the Fairfield facility. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, work with operations and business teams, and complete a defined summer project.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Returning to school after the Summer 2027 internship.
• Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a plant environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work onsite at the Fairfield, Alabama plant.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety requirements and support a safe work environment.
• Collect and analyze operational, production, inventory, and business data to support decision-making.
• Assist with business planning, production scheduling, materials flow, inventory, and supply chain activities.
• Work across operations, maintenance, procurement, logistics, and business teams to identify process improvements.
• Prepare clear reports, recommendations, and a final project presentation.
• Participate in intern programming, development activities, and site events.
