About The Position

The Student Employee position will focus on administrative support, learning support, or specialized support while offering educational and career growth. This role is responsible for assisting the staff in the assigned department, specifically within the Visual and Communication Arts department. The position offers valuable on-campus work experience and resume-building opportunities with flexible work scheduling built around classes.

Has a genuine desire to help their peers succeed.
Be currently enrolled as a student at EMU.
High School diploma.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
Answer incoming phone calls.
Perform a variety of administrative and/or office duties.
Provide assistance and support to faculty and/or staff in completing special projects as assigned.
Perform general administrative responsibilities in support of the department/office/campus.
Complete department-specific projects as assigned.
Attend the workplace regularly as scheduled, report to work punctually, and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.
Support the values of the University.
Regularly cleans, organizes, and maintains a functional studio environment.
Coordinate with the gallery director to hang artwork according to the exhibition plan.
Assists professors with inventory in studio spaces.
Remove nails from walls and patch holes after the exhibitions and paint pedestals and walls when needed.
