About The Position

This is a part-time student employee position within the Fine Arts Department, Academic Affairs Division. The role reports to Chuck Morgan and is classified as non-exempt. The minimum pay rate is $15.00 per hour, and the position is FWS Eligible. The duties involve managing band music, maintaining the band room and instrument storage, assisting with performances, and supporting the Fine Arts Secretary.

Requirements

• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC).
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JJC during fall/spring semester.
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of instrumental (band) music and scores
• Must be a member of JJC Community Band
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Receive all new band music, stamping, filing and counting music for inventory.
• Sort music and distribute to the ensembles.
• Maintain Band room J-3035 and Music Instrument storage room J-3037 (i.e., setting up chairs and equipment for all rehearsals and keeping the room neat and orderly.)
• Assist as needed with all instrumental music performances including set up and take down.
• Work at music concerts
• Assist Fine arts Secretary as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
