About The Position

The Electro-Neuro Student Technician functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Neurodiagnostics. Capable of performing neurodiagnostic procedures under the general supervision of Electo-Neureo I & II, or other designated qualified personnel, including both inpatient and outpatient routine & long-term electroencephalograms (EEGs) and all modalities of evoked potential procedures. The student must be knowledgeable in correct EEG, long-term monitoring (LTM), and evoked potential (EP) performance and recognition of clinically significant events and follows the facility’s policy and procedures. Exercises professional judgement in the performance of exams and communicates effectively with the neurologist and other staff members.

Requirements

  • High School completion / GED
  • Area of study or major: Associate Degree/Allied Health
  • CPR Certification required
  • R.EEG.T board-eligible within 1 year of hire
  • R.EP.T board-eligible within 1 year of hire
  • No prior job-related work experience
  • Ability to analyze, prioritize and evaluate patient needs in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Initiate, operate, troubleshoot, and reprocess END equipment
  • Must be able to complete all applicable clinical and didactic yearly competencies.
  • Must possess and display effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possesses ability to educate patients on related disease process and purpose of procedure.

  • Apply effective skills in the areas of communication, critical thinking and problem-solving in the practice of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology.
