About The Position

Under direct supervision of an American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) registered technologist, performs quality diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopic procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the American Society for Radiologist Technologists (ASRT). This position works within the interdisciplinary team to provide safe and personalized care for patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from a JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) certified Radiologic Technology program or current enrollment required. If currently enrolled, must have obtained a minimum of 32.5 credits.
  • None required (Work Experience)
  • Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Nice To Haves

  • R.T. (R) certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) must be completed within 90 days of graduation from a JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) certified radiologic technology program.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision of an American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) registered technologist, conducts diagnostic x-ray procedures providing high quality images to assist the radiologist in accurate diagnosis.
  • Under direct supervision of an American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) registered technologist , performs all fluoroscopic procedures proficiently while working in coordination with radiologists, Radiologists Practitioner Assistants (RPA’s), speech therapists, and other qualified physicians as required.
  • Under personal supervision of an American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) registered technologist, performs mobile x-ray and mobile fluoroscopy procedures providing high quality images to assist the radiologist in accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintains safe radiation safety practices during all Imaging procedures using ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Uses hospital information systems proficiently including EMR, scheduling, RIS and PACS software applications.
  • Performs as back-up to staff absences and vacancies, as necessary.
