About The Position

Keeps schools, gyms, offices, and work areas in clean, safe, and orderly condition by performing various custodial duties. This is a temporary position with specific responsibilities related to maintaining cleanliness and order within educational facilities.

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and with other employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Respects the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in private, personal, and public life.
Commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in Native American education.
Sensitivity to, and appreciation of Native American people and their cultures.
Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for students.
Regularly required to stand and walk, generally on cement floors; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to talk or hear and taste or smell.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to wear or carry a 10.5 pound Backpack vacuum cleaner with attachments to perform floor duties.
Normal corrected vision.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
One to six months related experience and/or training preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
Empties trash and garbage containers.
Dusts, washes, and sanitizes cabinets, desks, etc.; dusts all shelves.
Fills paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.
Keeps all walls clean including bathroom stalls and mirrors; washes all doors, both inside and outside and keeps inside entrance ways clean.
Washes and disinfects all toilet bowls, sinks, and water fountains.
Keeps all areas around light fixtures clean.
Keeps all custodial rooms neat and clean.
Keeps paper supplies, garbage supplies, and cleaning solutions locked at all times.
Notifies supervisor concerning need for repairs or problems.
