About The Position

This position assists the Theatre Department in providing costumes and props for Theatre productions, as well as maintaining order in the costume shop between productions. The role involves working with various fabrics and materials, operating machines and tools to refine and alter costumes, and constructing props. The student will also be responsible for maintaining and organizing the costume shop, and assisting with the tear down, restocking, and organizing of props at the end of a production. This is a student position at Northwestern, a faith-driven community with Christ-centered higher education and gospel outreach.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sew and use a sewing machine.
  • Able to follow direction and ask for help when unclear on responsibilities
  • Able to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment with specific deadlines
  • Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community
  • Independent & Teamwork: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctuality & Initiative: Prompt, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting responsibilities.
  • Background Check: Must pass background check as a condition of employment.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Responsibilities
