About The Position

This Fall student opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is currently completing, or has recently completed, studies in information technology, computer science, software development, information systems, quality assurance, or another related technical program. As a Student - Automation with the Automation team, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting test automation and software quality activities in a collaborative environment. The role will provide exposure to automation frameworks, API testing using Postman, basic SQL, Git/GitLab, and practical software delivery practices that help support reliable, efficient, and high-quality application releases. The Student - Automation will support the Automation team by assisting with the development, maintenance, and execution of automated test scripts. This role is a learning-focused opportunity where the student will help validate application functionality, identify defects, improve test coverage, and contribute to activities that support the delivery of reliable and high-quality software.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Information Systems, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational technical knowledge in areas such as Git/GitLab, SQL basics, and API testing with Postman.
  • Programming aptitude and an interest in learning test automation tools such as WebdriverIO.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Growth mindset and openness to learning new tools, including AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
  • Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
  • Collaborative team players with strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with technical concepts and open to learning automation, testing, and software delivery practices.
