About The Position

The Student Assistant provides general support to the Stout School of Education, assisting with day-to-day operations, administrative tasks, and special projects. The role offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience in a supportive environment. The student will work flexible hours totaling 10 hours per week during the academic term, scheduled around their class schedule. The position is eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Requirements

• Be currently enrolled as a student at High Point University.
• Have strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Be able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors, students, and faculty in person, by phone, or via email.
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
• Deliver documents and materials across campus as needed.
• Assist with social media posts and the School of Education slide show.
• Support faculty and staff with special projects or research-related tasks.
• Keep common areas organized and stocked with supplies, forms, and other materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
