About The Position

This position serves as a front office assistant providing clerical support and excellent customer service in the Engineering Technology Office. The role involves working directly under the Engineering Technology Department Chair and the Engineering Technology’s Office Coordinator. Coverage is needed in various shifts Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm, averaging 8-10 hours per week. This is an in-person position, and the recruitment is to start as soon as possible in Fall 2026. Applicants should indicate their current and/or anticipated class schedule in their cover letter.   • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to apply good judgement, tact and discretion while working with confidential information and high level visitors
  • Able to remain focused in a fast paced academic environment with many interruptions
  • Attention to details, highly organized and thorough completion of projects
  • Ability to answer phones in a professional manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment: telephones, printers, photocopier, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, run errands, and able to assist in the setup of events and meetings
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls
  • Addressing and assisting guests, students, faculty, staff, and the general public
  • Running errands
  • Picking up and distributing packages as well as dispensing mail
  • Other general office duties
  • Setting up conference room for meetings and presentations
  • Assisting with general hosting
  • Assisting with Department events to include some moderate lifting and moving as needed
