About The Position

Prisoner Express, a program of the Durland Alternatives Library, provides incarcerated men and women with information, education, and opportunities for creative self-expression in a public forum. This role involves supporting the Distance Learning Program and Social Media efforts.

Requirements

• Must be a student.

Responsibilities

• Read prisoner responses to distance learning projects and create compilation documents of interesting answers to be mailed back to participants.
• Help create distance learning packets to be mailed to prisoners.
• Assist in maintaining a database of active participants.
• Pack books and write responses to prisoner inquiries.
• Be trained to do general library work.
• Be trained in circulation desk responsibilities at Alternatives Library, and other administrative work (filing, typing, and data entry).
• Create social media content using tools like Canva and CapCut.
• Schedule and post content on a pre-determined schedule.
• Work with the PE and Alternatives Library Coordinator to set engagement goals.
