About The Position

The mission of the University of Kansas Transportation Center (KUTC) is to support Kansas public works and transit agencies by providing innovative, cost-effective, and valuable services through training, technical assistance, and research applied to local needs. This position will provide administrative support for training programs and conference coordination, assist in monitoring event registrations, and prepare course materials. The role also involves updating course sessions in the learning management system, creating class packets, managing the back end of classes in the LMS, organizing the Roads Scholar Program, and assisting with newsletter articles and emails. Additionally, the position will process checks, enter them into the LMS, send payment reminders, and maintain resource collections.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to work up to 12-15 hours a week and commit to a consistent schedule.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently and on time.
  • During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
  • For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
  • Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with conference coordination duties.
  • Provide administrative support for training programs.
  • Assist in monitoring event registrations.
  • Print and organize documents for events.
  • Prepare course materials for trainings.
  • Regularly update course sessions in our learning management system.
  • Create class packets for LTAP and RTAP classes, including class materials, name tags, and sign-in sheets.
  • Work on the back end of LTAP and RTAP Classes in the LMS, including reporting, compiling evaluations, and sending certificates when necessary.
  • Organize and maintain the Roads Scholar Program.
  • Assist in writing newsletter articles and bi-weekly emails.
  • Process checks and enter them into the learning management system.
  • Send Payment reminders.
  • Resource collection upkeep/maintenance.
