The Student Assistant will be responsible for scheduling and facilitating meetings with the Research Assistant cohort, designing and delivering skills-building workshops, managing a community learning environment in Canvas, and creating peer-connection opportunities for students and faculty. This role involves coaching undergraduate Research Assistants on research project design, collaborating with the RASI team on resource scheduling and coordination, and communicating with a cohort of 10 students and faculty to maintain a mentored community learning environment. The position requires interaction with students through one-on-one sessions, group instruction (at least 5 in-person workshops), online coaching, referrals, meetings, and other communication channels like email and Canvas. The Student Assistant will also monitor and update the Collaborative Mentorship USRA canvas course.
