About The Position

Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant in the IT Department to assist faculty and staff with daily, routine library operations. Students in the Libraries IT Department should have a certain basic set of skills to be able to assist the department efficiently and effectively. Requirements

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Report for the shift on time
  • Interest in public service and delivery of quality customer service
  • Be willing to work as a team member while interacting with faculty, staff, and students
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Assist Auburn University Libraries staff in resolving computing questions as well as hardware/software problems/repairs/maintenance
  • Assist IT staff in updating computer software, imaging laptops/computers, swapping out computer equipment
  • Refer users to other information resources when necessary to resolve computer usage issues
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Help set up/transport equipment
