About The Position

The IT Student Assistant will work as part of the IT client support team to assist in troubleshooting and resolving technology-related issues reported through the University Health Center's helpdesk phone and ticketing system, as well as supporting health center staff with technology focused workflows. This position will also assist with the management of IT inventory, including imaging and deploying computer systems, preparing deprecated equipment for surplus, and maintaining IT storage spaces. The individual in this role may also have opportunities to assist the larger health center IT department with special projects. The person in this position will be expected to maintain confidentiality and privacy of information in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA and other federal, state, Board of Regents and UGA regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • UHC Minimum: Technical knowledge in the field acquired through 6 months experience or equivalent coursework.
  • Good listening skills, ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of personalities.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer and network hardware, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment, and audio/video equipment, Windows based computer software packages.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA and other federal, state, Board of Regents, and UGA regulatory requirements.
  • Perform job duties while maintaining a professional and respectful manner.
