The Research Design and Data Analysis (RDDA) Consultant is a PAU student employee who provides consultation to PAU students, faculty, and other members of the PAU community on research design, research methodology, data analysis, and statistical methods. Through one-on-one consultation, RDDA Consultants provide guidance and recommendations to help researchers make informed methodological and analytical decisions for doctoral dissertations, faculty publications, and other scholarly research.

Requirements

  • Current PAU student in good academic standing.
  • Successful completion of doctoral level Research Methods, Statistics, and Psychometrics courses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research design, quantitative research methods, and statistical analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience serving as a Teaching Assistant Research Methods, Statistics, and/or Psychometrics courses.
  • Completion of additional coursework or applied experience in advanced statistical or quantitative methods (e.g., structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, or longitudinal data analysis).
  • Experience using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) to conduct data analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain statistical and methodological concepts to individuals with varying levels of research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation to PAU students, faculty, and other members of the PAU community regarding research design, statistical analysis, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Advise researchers on best practices for data collection, data management, and data integrity to ensure the quality and reliability of research outcomes.
  • Conduct independent research to identify and recommend appropriate methodological and statistical solutions to research-related inquiries.
  • Maintain current knowledge of research methods, statistical techniques, and relevant analytical tools to support consultation services.
  • Meet with the RDDA Manager bi-weekly for supervision.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the RDDA Manager.
