About The Position

This is a part-time Student Assistant position in the Cardiology Unit at Freeman Hospital West. The unit is a fast-paced, high-energy, procedurally driven 45-bed unit focused on cardiac or vascular ailments. Bedside care is delivered by a team of Registered Nurses, New Graduate Nurses, Unit Techs, and Unit Secretaries. The Student Assistant will provide basic nursing care needs for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a nurse.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in RN nursing program and beginning final semester of nursing school
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI) within 180 days
• NT Competency Day annually by transcript due date

Responsibilities

• Under the direction/supervision of a nurse, provides basic nursing care needs for assigned patients.
