About The Position

The Athletics Graphic Design Student Assistant will be responsible for organizing and managing multiple projects, formulating design concepts, presentations, sign templates, layouts, and other collateral from initial idea to final execution. This role involves presenting ideas to full-time staff, prioritizing work from multiple departments, designing digital advertisements, print, and promotional materials, and working with images. The assistant will also meet all deadlines and contribute to marketing/communications initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
• Must know design programs on a Macintosh computer, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat and Font Management
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
• Practice a professional attitude when working with outside vendors
• Develop good rapport with other members of the Athletics Department
• Maintain an approachable persona as well as organized and respectful communication with all other departments
• Work closely with supervisors to ensure a cohesive message and look across all design projects and materials
• Able to gain and maintain working knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Currently enrolled in Visual Communication, Advertising or similar major

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage multiple projects in various stages of progress
• Formulate design concepts, presentations, sign templates, layouts and other collateral from initial idea to final execution
• Present or pitch ideas, briefs, and concepts to full-time staff
• Prioritize and filter work coming from multiple departments
• Design digital advertisements, print, and promotional materials
• Work with images from various photographers, comping images to use on design layouts
• Meet all deadlines
• Contribute to the invention and implementation of marketing/communications initiatives
