About The Position
Dr. Soledad Benitez Ponce and her team are seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join their part-time research program in the Department of Plant Pathology at CFAES Wooster. The team's research focuses on plant-associated bacteria and fungi within agricultural systems, specifically corn, soybean, and hydroponic leafy green production relevant to Ohio agriculture. The student will provide support for various laboratory projects.
Requirements
- Motivated undergraduate student
Responsibilities
- Support activities within various projects in the laboratory
- Set up of greenhouse experiments
- Sample plant, soil, seeds and other relevant material from the greenhouse
- Maintain and manage plant and microbial material
- Process samples for microbiological or genetic analysis
- Perform lab cleanup and organization
