About The Position

The NRL Archival Assistant will lead the creation of the Nuclear Reactor Laboratory’s special collection of historical pictures and documents in celebration of The Ohio State University Research Reactor’s 65th anniversary. This role involves sorting and organizing materials, labeling folders, performing minor archival preservation tasks, data entry, creating finding aids, digitizing materials, creating displays, suggesting content for the website, and undertaking materials maintenance projects such as shelf reading, re-boxing, or re-labeling. The assistant may also help with other departmental projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions as given with attention to detail
  • Neat, legible handwriting
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience entering information into a computer database or content management system

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an environment performing organizational tasks with documents or records, preferably in an office, archives, or special collections environment
