About The Position

The Multicultural Center Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the Wisconsin School of Business Multicultural Center, including student engagement initiatives, partnership development, staff supervision, resource management, and program assessment. As part of the integrated Multicultural Center, Business Emerging Leaders (BEL), and Precollege Programs portfolio, the Manager also coordinates cross-unit initiatives and operational priorities that advance student success, strengthen program effectiveness, and support strategic goals across the portfolio. The position works closely with the Director to implement unit priorities and advance the mission of the Multicultural Center.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years professional experience in student affairs, student success, higher education administration, academic support, advising, retention, recruitment, or related areas.
Bachelor's Degree required.

Responsibilities

Manages student success programs and services: Leads implementation and evaluation of programs supporting student engagement, belonging, leadership development, retention, and academic success. Oversees planning and execution of workshops, trainings, events, and student development initiatives. Develops and implements operational plans that align with Multicultural Center and portfolio priorities. Supports the coordination and delivery of student success initiatives across the broader portfolio, including summer programs such as Precollege camps and Bridge to BEL. Identifies and recommends program improvements based on assessment findings and student needs.
Oversees Multicultural Center operations and resources: Manages day-to-day operations of the Multicultural Center. Establishes and maintains policies, procedures, and service standards. Coordinates facility operations, event logistics, equipment, technology, and resource management. Ensures effective utilization of space and resources to support student engagement and community building. Supports operational planning and coordination for portfolio-wide initiatives and programs.
Supervises graduate staff and student employees: Supervises graduate assistants, peer leaders, and student employees. Recruits, trains, develops, and evaluates staff performance. Establishes work priorities and monitors completion of assignments. May exercise supervisory authority in accordance with university policies.
Manages budgets and administrative functions: Oversees program and operational budgets. Monitors expenditures and resource allocation. Coordinates purchasing, contracts, reimbursements, and fiscal reconciliation activities. Assists with annual planning and budget projections. Supports financial and administrative processes for selected initiatives across the broader student success portfolio.
Leads assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement activities: Collects and analyzes program participation, student engagement, and outcome data. Develops reports and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders. Implements assessment strategies to evaluate program effectiveness and inform decision-making. Tracks progress toward established goals and objectives across assigned programs and initiatives.
Develops and maintains stakeholder partnerships: Builds collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and community partners. Represents the Multicultural Center and related portfolio initiatives on committees and collaborative projects. Coordinates efforts that connect resources and opportunities for students. Supports communication and stewardship efforts with donors and external partners.
Supports school-wide student success initiatives: Collaborates with campus and school partners on recruitment, transition, retention, and student success efforts. Coordinates cross-unit initiatives and operational priorities across the Multicultural Center, Business Emerging Leaders (BEL), and Precollege Programs portfolio. Supports the planning and implementation of summer student success experiences, including Precollege programs and Bridge to BEL. Supports implementation of priorities established by the Director and school leadership.
Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs
May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups
Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit
Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility
May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures
Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
