East Side House (ESH), a 501(c)(3) organization serving the South Bronx since 1963, is dedicated to providing resources and opportunities focused on economic improvement through education. ESH administers the Learning-to-Work Program, which enhances academic components by offering support, career exploration, work preparation, skills development, and internships. This program specifically targets transfer schools and re-engages high school students who are over-age, under-credited, or have dropped out. The Student Advisor, under the direction of the Program Director, will provide comprehensive support in college and career readiness, academic progress monitoring, daily student issues, and social-emotional development. Adhering to the Primary Person Model, the Student Advisor will be the main point of contact for students, parents, and staff, collaborating with partner school faculty to ensure student academic success.
