About The Position

The Evening School Student Advisor serves as the primary case manager for students in the evening program. This role supports students in identifying and reducing barriers to success, monitoring academic and attendance progress, and developing clear postsecondary plans. Evening School students often balance work, family responsibilities, and school. This role requires strong relationship building, proactive outreach, and a commitment to student persistence and graduation.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of case management or youth support experience
• Knowledge of Philadelphia based community resources preferred
• Experience working with opportunity youth or alternative education settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct student needs assessments and develop individualized action plans
• Identify and address barriers to attendance, academic success, and persistence
• Monitor daily attendance and conduct follow up outreach as needed
• Monitor academic progress and collaborate with teachers to support student success
• Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and compliance records
• Connect students to school based and community based resources
• Support postsecondary planning and coordinate with Senior Seminar and workforce staff
• Facilitate intervention meetings and monitor student progress plans
• Provide mentorship to a cohort of 4–5 students, offering consistent academic and personal support to help them stay on track toward meeting graduation requirements
• Perform other duties, as assigned by the Evening School Principal
