About The Position

This job entails working in the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Lab in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences on main campus on a 5-year research project funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • If Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Current enrollment as a graduate student in the Speech and Hearing Sciences undergrad or graduate program
  • Have experience engaging in AAC research
  • Completion of human participants training
  • Available to work 10 hours a week during the work week

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with technology
  • Evidence of strong organizational and record-keeping skills

Responsibilities

  • Organizing lab materials
  • Assisting with data collection sessions
  • Completing data analyses
  • Proper filing and storage of data
  • Taking a leadership role in the lab through discussions and demonstrations of lab procedures with new student employees
