Newcomb-Tulane College Career Services employs a diverse team of responsible, motivated, and dynamic Career Peers. The vision statement is to equitably empower students throughout their unique career journeys. As a Career Peer, you will host drop-in hours to meet with students one-on-one to share career resources and advice. Training for all duties will be provided. You will also provide feedback on and approve student resumes and cover letters in Handshake, and provide support during career events. Additionally, you will create, implement, communicate, and lead programs and outreach, and serve as an ambassador of the NTC Career Services through tasks such as tabling, presenting to course sections and/or student organizations. You will also assist full-time staff members with ongoing projects. All Career Peers will start work during the Fall 2026 semester with the expectation of employment during the 2026-2027 academic year. You will work up to 10 hours per week, including self-scheduled office hours and flexible out-of-office program hours, as well as some virtual hours. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to implement effective programming and outreach, pending your course schedule. You will attend mandatory weekly Career Peer Team meetings and regular one-on-one check-ins with program supervisors. There will be opportunities to work on additional projects of interest. You are expected to respect office policies and procedures and meet expectations for professionalism and customer service.
