About The Position

A final candidate may be hired as an Associate Student Account Specialist or Student Account Specialist dependent on applicable experience and knowledge. The Student Accounts Specialist uses analytical thinking, problem solving, and great attention to detail to support students and the university. Daily tasks include refund calculations, student account balance reviews, refund check processing, and posting of student payments while providing excellent customer service to students and university staff. Student Accounts Specialists must be self-motivated and organized with excellent time management skills to work in this fast paced higher education administration/business environment. HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, a scheduled to be determined based on business/department needs between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm. This position allows for a hybrid schedule with a mix of in-office days at the University's home office in Milwaukee and remote days. Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of Title IV administration or related experience required for Specialist level
  • At least one year of Title IV administration or related experience preferred for Associate Specialist level
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • We do not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned accounts for upcoming and past due amounts.
  • Contact active students to remind them of payments due and discuss payment arrangement options to collect on overdue payments.
  • Provide student account data to external agencies for students receiving tuition assistance.
  • Upon request, provide tuition statements for students or outside agencies.
  • Process and disburse payment to students for funds due from eligible loans that exceed tuition owed.
  • Process check, online and EFT payments.
  • Return refunded/returned loan and grant money to federal programs in accordance with federal guidelines.
  • Complete Return of Title IV Funds; calculate and disburse tuition refund to students who have withdrawn from the University in accordance with Title IV regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
