About The Position

Source Energy Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented STS HSE Coordinator to support the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements of our Trucking Operations. This role is integral to maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting frontline operations, and strengthening our safety culture across Alberta and British Columbia. Working closely with the STS HSE Specialist and operational leadership, the HSE Coordinator will assist with day to day safety activities, field support, compliance monitoring, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is well suited for an intermediate level safety professional looking to grow within a transportation and industrial operations environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an HSE Coordinator or safety support role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia OHS requirements, WCB, and the National Safety Code (NSC).
  • Knowledge of Federal Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting transportation or trucking operations.
  • Post secondary education or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (e.g., NCSO designation or working toward certification).
  • Familiarity with ELD systems, driver compliance auditing, and safety management software.
  • Be a proactive self-starter who actively provides solutions when faced with opportunities;
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite;
  • Strong aptitude for detail;
  • Above average organizational abilities to manage multiple and overlapping projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and partner with the STS HSE Specialist to ensure compliance with Source Energy Services’ HSE policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Support daily and changing work activities by identifying hazards, assessing risk, and assisting with the implementation of appropriate controls.
  • Potential to conduct field visits and observations as required to support safe work practices and verify compliance.
  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of new hire orientations for employees and contractors.
  • Support the development, implementation, and tracking of training and competency programs for drivers and support personnel.
  • Assist with facilitating and/or attend daily tailgates and monthly safety meetings.
  • Audit trucking logbooks, Electronic Logging Device (ELD) data, and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance for Source drivers.
  • Monitor and maintain driver qualification files in accordance with National Safety Code (NSC) requirements.
  • Provide support to the Trucking Field Advisor with Source’s online HSE and compliance management systems.
  • Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and HSE documentation.
  • Support the Contractor Management Program, including contractor onboarding and compliance verification.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and assist with emergency drills and exercises.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, inspections, and internal audits.
  • Assist with tracking corrective actions and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the HSE and operations teams.
