About The Position

We are seeking a Stryker Combat Vehicle Mechanic to support the operational readiness of the Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Carson, Colorado. This role performs diagnostics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and sustainment activities on Stryker Family of Vehicles (FOV), supporting mission-critical military operations in both garrison and field environments. Candidates with tactical vehicle maintenance, combat vehicle systems, hydraulics, powertrain systems, and military vehicle experience will be highly successful in this role.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, if required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience performing maintenance on tactical, military, or combat vehicles.
  • Documented military vehicle maintenance training or equivalent commercial heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, powertrain, driveline, suspension, fuel, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Experience using technical manuals, schematics, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic equipment, test equipment, and specialized maintenance tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform maintenance in shop, field, and military operational environments.
  • Ability to gain and maintain access to Fort Carson and other military installations as required.
  • Must meet and maintain ASR guidelines for driver's station entry in accordance with Standard Practice 2-644.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a company-issued American Express card.
  • Ability to deploy in support of fielding and sustainment missions throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and demanding schedules in fast-paced operational environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior military occupational specialties including 91B, 91S, 63S, 63W, or 63B (MCM/LAV III) maintenance experience.
  • Stryker Combat Vehicle maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCT).
  • Knowledge of turret systems, vehicle electronics, and associated Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
  • Experience utilizing Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) systems and advanced vehicle diagnostics.
  • Experience supporting military vehicle fielding, sustainment, or deployment operations.
  • Commercial heavy vehicle maintenance certifications or military-equivalent training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance on Stryker Family of Vehicles (FOV).
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair faults, failures, and deficiencies in vehicle systems and subsystems.
  • Utilize vehicle download equipment to transfer, read, and manage software configurations.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Identify replacement parts and cross-reference components based on vehicle configurations.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on Stryker vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel systems, exhaust systems, driveline components, and suspension systems.
  • Utilize Built-In Test Equipment (BITE), Manual Troubleshooting Procedures (MTPs), special tools, and technical documentation to isolate and correct malfunctions.
  • Repair and replace Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), subsystems, and vehicle components.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, adjust, reassemble, and test components in accordance with technical standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems common to Stryker platforms and vehicle variants.
  • Complete maintenance records, service documentation, inspection reports, and administrative paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accountability and serviceability of tools, test equipment, and assigned property.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support fielding, deployment, sustainment, and operational readiness activities as required.
