The Structural Design Engineer team is responsible for developing configurations, laying out initial designs, designing detail parts, assemblies and installations and supporting aircraft programs from initial phase through product type certification. The design engineer also sustains multiple in-production aircraft, investigates fleet issues and customer requests, and works alongside multiple technical peers, including stress analysts, systems design engineers, test engineers, manufacturing engineers, production floor support personnel and regulatory agents. Knowledge of design configuration, design criteria, including CFR Part 25 regulations, material properties, load paths and industry and Gulfstream processes are examples of the knowledge, tools and techniques needed to design modern aircraft structures and components.
