About The Position

At Voyageur Aviation Corp., we deliver innovative solutions to customers with unique aviation requirements. We are an integrated provider of specialized aviation services, including advanced engineering and maintenance capabilities, part sales and logistics management, aircraft leasing, and contract flying operations both internationally and domestically supporting humanitarian missions, cargo, and workforce movements to remote communities. Our headquarters are in North Bay, Ontario, and we are a wholly owned subsidiary of Chorus Aviation Inc. As a key member of the Structures team, the Technician will report to the Supervisor, Structures, and will be responsible for sheet metal and minor composite repairs, refinishing, painting, and minor machining on our CRJ and DH8 fleet.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • A college diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Category S) program from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of structural repair experience in the aviation industry
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screening process
  • Work effectively in both individual and team environments.
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Strong analytical personality
  • Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit)
  • Provide a clear Criminal Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mechanical work experience is an asset.
  • Previous transferable skills such as: aircraft maintenance, aviation, aircraft mechanic, aerospace, aircraft technician, structures.

Responsibilities

  • Restore or repair defects using unique aircraft fastening hardware, composite materials, chemicals, adhesives, paints, and textiles.
  • Manufacture aircraft equipment, components, or replacement parts from base metals using special cutting tools and machines.
  • Fabricate and repair aircraft structures using metal, composite, fiberglass, textiles, leather, plastic, and synthetic components.
  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, and procedures.
  • Inspect aircraft structural components and zones to identify problems and adjust/repair the defects according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and established procedures.
  • Actively participate in Voyageur’s safety culture, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations through our Safety Management System, and understand and comply with and promote the company’s safety culture.
