About The Position
Aerodyne Industries is seeking a Structures and Mechanisms Engineer, ISS Sustaining to join the team with JETS. This role supports the ISS Structures and Mechanisms team, which spans several branches within the Structural Engineering Division at NASA/JSC, including Structures and Fracture, Mechanisms, Loads and Dynamic, and Pressure Systems. The engineer will provide subsystem management support for ISS sustaining activities, assist in reviewing and developing hardware, analysis, operations, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, requirements verification, re-flight assessments, and flight acceptance testing related to structures and mechanisms. They will also coordinate to close technical and programmatic issues and review/approve vehicle verification/certification tests, analysis, and associated documentation. While expertise in all areas is not required, a willingness to learn and coordinate across disciplines is highly desired. The role also involves supporting cargo and crew vehicles visiting the ISS, and potentially USDV development and other ISS visiting vehicles. The candidate should be a self-starter, outgoing, and capable of formulating and presenting presentations to boards.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5-10 years of related experience
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Familiarity with NASA Standards for Structures and Mechanisms
- Previous NASA flight hardware experience
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Responsibilities
