Structured Cabling (Voice & Data) Technician- Miller Electric Company
About The Position

In this role, you will lead small to mid-size structured cabling projects, managing teams of up to eight technicians and ensuring high-quality installation of voice, data, and fiber optic systems. Responsibilities include installing, terminating, testing, and labeling CAT6/CAT6A and fiber cabling, as well as supporting access control, CCTV, and audiovisual systems. You will also interpret blueprints, install network infrastructure (racks, patch panels, MDF/IDF), and maintain a strong commitment to jobsite safety while working at heights.
Requirements
- 5+ years commercial/industrial low voltage (Voice & Data) experience
- 5+ years' experience with structured cabling
- 5+ years Working knowledge of telecom/data networks
- Willingness to travel to job sites and work different shifts as needed
Nice To Haves
- BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus
Responsibilities
- Lead small to mid-size projects consisting of teams up to 8 technicians
- Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT6/CAT6A cable
- Pull, terminate, dress, and label Fiber Optic cabling
- Test installed cable (Fluke or similar testers)
- Punch down voice and data jacks
- Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, etc.
- Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
- Read and interpret blueprints/system layouts
- Install/support access control, CCTV, audio visual, and fiber optic systems
