This position installs, tests, and troubleshoots communication network cabling, surveillance cameras, and other equipment as required. The technician will assist Network Administrators in network maintenance and equipment deployment. The role involves installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting various types of cables, including copper and fiber optic. Additionally, the technician will install, test, and assist in configuring IP-based surveillance cameras, physical access control devices, and projection/display systems. Continuous learning through training, industry publications, and vendor interactions is expected to stay current with technological advancements and standards. Collaboration with outside contractors for cable installations and assisting Network Services with maintenance and equipment deployment are also key responsibilities. The role may require on-call duties, overtime, and weekend/holiday work. The position receives general instruction and task assignment from the Senior Audio Video Specialist and is a non-supervisory role.
