About The Position

Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools. Provides product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with supplier to optimize design and achieve program goals. Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs. Applies experience with engineering processes and tools including CSDT, CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, and associated release processes. Works with aircraft cabin and cargo engineering products and designs including cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and certification. Provides engineering support within a production system with direct engagement with aerospace suppliers or airlines. Supports validation of compliance to regulatory requirements and works with regulators for certification.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with engineering processes and tools including CSDT, CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, and associated release processes.
  • Experience with aircraft cabin and cargo engineering products and designs.
  • Experience with engineering support within a production system.
  • Experience with direct engagement working with or for aerospace suppliers or airlines.
  • Experience supporting validation of compliance to regulatory requirements and experience working with regulators.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 or EASA equivalent and aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes.
