About The Position
Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Structural Mig and Stick welders for a shop job in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints and performing welds using Mig and/or Stick welding processes. This is a 10-week project with a 40-hour work week and overtime opportunities. The pay rate is $30/hour, based on experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Structural Welder in a shop
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Experience using common fabrication tools and measuring equipment
- Must possess a 25-foot tape measure and needle-nose pliers
- Ability to work overtime and maintain reliable attendance
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans
- Fit and assemble structural steel components according to specifications
- Perform Mig and/or Stick welding to secure assemblies
- Verify measurements, alignments, and tolerances for accuracy
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Work effectively with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines
