About The Position
Apache Workforce is currently hiring experienced Structural Welders in Houston, TX. We are seeking skilled welders with strong fabrication and structural welding experience who are ready to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Structural Welder is responsible for performing weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, and work instructions. This role requires strong welding knowledge, blueprint interpretation skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Requirements
- Strong ability to read blueprints and welding drawings
- Proficiency in various welding techniques and processes
- Experience completing inspection forms and production documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Successful completion of an internal welding test
- Minimum 5 years of structural welding experience
- Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures
Nice To Haves
- Vocational welding training or certifications preferred
- AWS Certification or equivalent welding certification preferred
- Experience with robotic welding systems
- Familiarity with advanced welding techniques and specialty materials
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding and fabrication operations according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
- Set up and operate welding equipment using proper welding parameters
- Work with various steel alloys and filler materials
- Use conventional and precision measuring instruments accurately
- Complete inspection documentation and maintain welding records
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools
- Perform finish grinding using hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
- Follow OSHA safety procedures and company safety policies
- Properly use PPE and report safety concerns immediately
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Perform additional duties assigned
