About The Position
Sparta Networking is hiring Structural Welders for shipbuilding and marine production in Pascagoula, Mississippi. You will weld the hull and structural assemblies that go into large commercial and defense vessels. The right person welds clean, code-quality joints and thrives in a busy production shipyard.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Structural welding experience required
- Ability to pass a welding test or maintain required certifications
- Able to work overhead, in confined spaces, and in varied weather
- Able to lift 40 pounds or more
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- U.S. citizenship required
Responsibilities
- Weld structural steel and alloy parts and assemblies to spec
- Interpret drawings to determine layout and weld sequence
- Verify weld quality against required standards
- Prepare and fit components prior to welding
- Work across the shipyard, including heights and confined spaces
- Maintain a clean, safe work area
