Riley Power Group, LLC (RPG) is a full-service maintenance and capital construction services company headquartered in Rock Hill, SC. We support complex industrial construction and maintenance projects across the United States. We are currently seeking skilled Structural Welders for a project located in Groton, CT. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience performing the welding processes listed above.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience with High School diploma/GED and/or certification in assigned area preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision/oversight; have working knowledge of precision calibration tools (weld gauges), be able to operate multiple types of welding equipment, and possess good trouble shooting / problem solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work multiple shifts.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, technique sheets and weld symbols.
  • Ability pass respirator fit-check and wearing of respirator for portions of, or all of, an 8 to 12-hour shift or as required.
  • Must be clean shaven for fit-check and dawning of respirator.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Flexible, willing to work long hours, safety oriented.
  • Successful candidate must possess the willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidates will possess welding experience with GMAW-SP, GMAW-P and SMAW
  • Experience with the Fabrication of Submarine parts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs welding processes on carbon steel (OSS, HSS, HY, HSLA etc.) assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals, metal alloys and with various joint configurations, and also capable of Aluminum GTAW welding.
  • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Oxy/Fuel pre-heat and carbon arc gouging.
  • Verifying weld size using weld gauges.
  • Will monitor and verify quality in accordance with SSP's and MDD's.
