About The Position

We are seeking experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Structural Welders for our client in East Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire position with a pay rate of $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 5:30 AM, with potential for overtime and Saturday work. The role involves performing 3G structural welding on steel components using MIG and Flux Core (FCAW-G, 1/16" wire). You will interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings, set up and operate welding equipment, and prepare materials for fabrication. Safely moving materials using overhead cranes, jib cranes, and rigging equipment is also part of the job. Additional shop duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-4 years of structural steel welding and fabrication experience.
• Must successfully pass a 3G weld test using MIG and FCAW processes.
• Working knowledge of AWS welding codes, standards, and welding procedures.
• Experience with grinders, cutting torches, and fabrication hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a standing position for extended periods.
• Must possess effective verbal communication skills and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to meet company certification and performance testing requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with overhead cranes, jib cranes, and safe rigging practices is preferred.
• High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3G structural welding on steel components using MIG and Flux Core (FCAW-G, 1/16" wire).
• Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings to complete projects accurately.
• Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment and wire feeders.
• Grind, bevel, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication and assembly.
• Utilize overhead cranes, jib cranes, and rigging equipment to safely move materials and assemblies.
• Perform additional shop duties as assigned by management.
