Colorado School of Mines is seeking a Structural Trades I professional to join their Facilities Management Structural Trades team. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in building maintenance, construction, facilities operations, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of painting, drywall, carpentry, or general maintenance practices
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills, including email and work order management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Residency Requirement: Must be a resident of the State of Colorado at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities including: Drywall repair, installation, finishing, texturing, and patching
  • Interior and exterior painting, including preparation, priming, and finish work
  • Flooring repairs including carpet, tile, vinyl flooring, stair treads, and cove base
  • Door repairs and adjustments, including closers and hardware
  • Basic carpentry repairs and installations
  • Hanging boards, pictures, and fixtures
  • Unit rehabilitation and remodeling projects
  • Exterior building repairs, including siding, gutters, and roofing repairs
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs
  • Concrete repair and maintenance work
  • Preventive maintenance inspections and corrections
  • Other maintenance and repair duties as assigned
  • Assist with snow and ice removal operations
  • Shovel sidewalks, entrances, and walkways
  • Apply ice melt safely and effectively
  • Operate snow blowers and other assigned equipment
  • Support campus safety efforts during weather events
  • Assist with additional departmental needs as assigned
  • Track and document labor and materials used on assignments
  • Enter accurate notes and completion details into the computerized maintenance management system
  • Manage assigned work orders and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Utilize email and work order software effectively
