About The Position

DPP is seeking a Structural Technician IV for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension, located onsite in Vandalia, OH. The role involves assembling and/or creating major assembly structures and performing minor part-fitting operations. The technician will update job status on the operations database, translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies, align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles, and measure parts to verify dimensions. Responsibilities include modifying assemblies, monitoring quality, performing maintenance duties, and ensuring effective communication between team members, quality control, and engineering.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
8-15+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
Mastery in blueprint reading and technical documentation.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
Advanced experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
Must have own tools in good working order.
US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in aerospace manufacturing or related discipline.
Advanced certifications in aerospace manufacturing.
Proven track record in managing large-scale assembly projects.
Ability to travel.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

Oversee and execute highly complex and critical assembly operations.
Provide expert technical support and mentorship to all technician levels.
Lead large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Act as a key liaison between the production floor and engineering management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and integrate best practices.
Conduct advanced inspections and quality assurance checks.
Develop and implement training programs for team members.
Ensure optimal maintenance and calibration of all tools and equipment.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to enhance overall manufacturing processes.
