The selected candidate will initially be placed on one of Bechtel's four Liquefied Natural Gas Plant Projects in the US Gulf Coast Region for its Energy Global Business Unit, but may also require future mobility to one of its other Global Business Units in a different location. The ideal candidate will have market sector/sub-sector construction industry experience in energy (liquefied natural gas), manufacturing and technology (semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, data centers, fire power generation), infrastructure (aviation, rail, roads/bridges), mining and minerals (water treatment plant, mineral extraction, metal refining), & nuclear, security, and environmental (nuclear power epc, power distribution, combined cycle, defense and space, environmental cleanup). As needs arise in Bechtel's growing business, there will be an expectation for the candidate to be fully mobile.

Requirements

  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience​ in lieu of degree.
  • Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
  • Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
  • Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
  • Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
  • Knowledge is normally acquired through: A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or Specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or Prior practical work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
  • Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
  • Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
