About The Position

EBC is a leader in major infrastructure projects, including bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, and marine installations. We are known for our ability to meet deadlines and budgets, and our expertise has been applied to significant projects like the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), and the Site C hydro-electric power station. Our team of engineers, project managers, and specialists also contribute to wind farms and hydroelectric projects. As a member of the Civil team, the Site Superintendent will work under the guidance of the Site or General Superintendent to provide innovative construction solutions for heavy civil projects such as tunneling, highways, infrastructure, earthworks, and hydroelectric projects.

Requirements

Related work experience of 3-5 years in a construction supervision role, working on heavy civil construction projects.
Experience in earthworks and concrete structures is a must.
Proven skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
Basic math, accounting, and finance skills.
Proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership and establishing and maintaining effective and harmonious relationships with on-site staff.
Having thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of contract documents, subcontracts, contract drawings, specifications, and addenda, and assisting the Site/General Superintendent in developing on-site procedures.
Planning and reviewing the site construction program with the Site/General Superintendent, including quality control, safety and environmental procedures, staging plans, equipment, and manpower.
Coordinating, directing, and monitoring the inspection activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and own forces through the Field Engineer/Coordinator.
Coordinating with and directing inspection agencies when necessary, and effecting remedial actions if required.
Establishing and maintaining necessary communications between subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
Attending weekly safety meetings and coordination meetings with own forces, subcontractors, agencies, and clients.
Providing daily reports of work done and labor and material employed to the Site/General Superintendent.
Reviewing and submitting for approval all time cards, subcontractor's monthly requests for payment, material vouchers, and invoices.
Maintaining good relations and communications with all involved in the project, including the public.
