About The Position
Conduct welding of structural steel components for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects. This role requires strong Flux Core welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality while working with heavy steel assemblies.
Requirements
- 2+ years of structural steel welding experience required
- Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience required
- Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, WPSs, and shop drawings
- Ability to safely work with overhead cranes, fixtures, and heavy steel assemblies
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GMAW/MIG, SAW, and SMAW is a plus
- Current or prior AWS welding certifications preferred , particularly D1.1/D1.5
- Experience in an AISC-certified fabrication shop preferred
Responsibilities
- Weld structural steel and bridge components using FCAW, GMAW/MIG, SAW, and SMAW in accordance with AWS D1.1 requirements
- Read and interpret weld symbols, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), and shop drawings
- Perform weld preparation, grinding, gouging, and cleanup as required
- Inspect welds for quality and ensure work meets specified standards and requirements
- Safely operate and work around overhead cranes, fixtures, and heavy steel assemblies
