About The Position

Qualdoc is looking for experienced structural steel fabricators to join a contract-to-hire production team. Depending on experience, you'll work as a Fitter or Welder/Fitter, preparing and assembling steel components from drawings while maintaining accurate fit-up, quality, and safe work practices.

Requirements

3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience required.
Experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
Knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
Ability to set up and use a track torch.
Ability to perform Flux Core welding and pass a pre-employment welding test.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

AWS or other welding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Review blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications before beginning fabrication.
Measure and lay out structural steel components for assembly.
Position and align steel members to achieve proper fit-up.
Assemble structural steel components prior to welding.
Perform Flux Core welding when working in the Welder/Fitter role.
Set up and operate a track torch.
Properly use, maintain, and care for welding and fabrication equipment.
Inspect dimensions, alignment, fit, and completed work for accuracy.
Communicate with supervisors and other team members to maintain production schedules.
Keep the work area organized and follow required safety procedures.
