About The Position
We are looking for experienced Structural Steel Fitters / Fabricators to build and assemble structural steel components. This role requires strong fitting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read drawings and work safely with heavy steel.
Requirements
- 2+ years of structural steel fitting and fabrication experience
- Able to read and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Experience with carbon steel fabrication
- Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and safety
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Comfortable working around heavy steel and machinery
Nice To Haves
- AISC fabrication shop experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
- Layout, fit, and fabricate structural steel components
- Measure and assemble steel to meet required dimensions
- Perform grinding, cutting, and arc gouging
- Use cutting torches and oxy-fuel equipment
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow AISC, AWS, and OSHA safety standards
- Work with welders, fabricators, and other team members to keep production moving
